You spend a lot of time and money trying to capture people’s attention, is your website ready when they arrive?
If it feels outdated, difficult to use, hard to understand or fails to inspire confidence, they probably won’t take a chance on you.
The websites that win help the right people find you, instantly understand what you offer, trust you and take action.
Here’s my checklist for a successful website:
First impressions count
Knock their socks off. When someone lands on your site they should be excited and intrigued.
Make them feel understood
Visitors want to know they are in the right place. Speak plainly in their language and style.
Keep it short
You only have a moment to capture their attention. Make every sentence clear, sharp and to the point.
Show what changes
Talk about their problems and show a clear picture of the outcome.
Give people a reason to choose you
Most businesses make similar claims. Focus on what only you can say: a sharper point of view, a better way of working, or a deeper understanding of the problem.
Show proof
Proof builds confidence. Show the work, the results, and how you made it happen.
Make the next step easy
Help them take immediate action. A clear invitation and an easy first step. After they’ve made contact, reassure them by explaining what happens next.
Make it feel effortless
Never waste their time. Make it fast, reliable, easy to use on a phone, and usable by as many people as possible. A bad experience causes frustration and destroys trust.
Help the right people find you
Answer the questions your audience is already asking, use the words they search for, and make it easy to reach you from the places they already look.
Keep making it better
Analyse your data, see what’s working and what’s not, adjust, improve, and see what’s winning.
